You will be advised to use olive oil ear drops THREE times a day for around 7 days prior to your appointment to ensure that the wax has softened.

Do I need to use olive oil first?
Yes, please use olive oil drops THREE times a day for 7 days before your appointment. This softens the wax and makes removal easier and more comfortable. We may need to rebook your appointment if this hasn’t been completed
Will I hear better immediately?
Yes! Most patients notice immediate improvement in hearing once the wax is removed if it was wax causing the issue.
Is it safe?
Microsuction is the safest method of ear wax removal. Unlike syringing, there’s no water pressure and we can see exactly what we’re doing.
What if the wax won't come out?
In rare cases where wax is very hard, we may need to reschedule after more olive oil use. This is uncommon if you’ve used drops for around 7 days, three times a day.
